We came to Cincy today for what was supposed to be an outpatient chemo treatment. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as planned.
Lizzy stubbed her toe at home yesterday. At the time we didn’t think too much about it. However, she woke up in the middle of the night complaining of it hurting. Today at the clinic, her toe has turned red and there is a red streak going up her leg. So, it appears the toe has become infected, and given her low blood counts, the doctor wants to admit Lizzy to the hospital so she can receive IV antibiotics.
In addition to the antibiotics, she is also going to receive a transfusion of platelets as well as her scheduled chemo dose. At this point we don’t know how long she’ll be admitted but we are praying for just one or two days.
Would you join us in praying for the infection to go away, for her ANC to come up and for the admission to be short?
Thank you so much.
