Our story begins with a Princess who met her Prince and the two of them decided to get married. The wedding would take place in Denver, CO, and include two of the most beautiful flower girls in the whole kingdom. The wedding went off without a hitch and the Princess and Prince left for their honeymoon and their happily-ever-after!
The next day following the wedding, the rest of the family decided to go hiking in the mountains. The scenery was beautiful and the weather was perfect, but unfortunately, one of the little flower girls became ill. We just thought it was altitude sickness, but later on that evening, the flower girl (Lizzy) threw up, began running a fever and complained that her belly hurt.
During the night, the flower girl’s mommy (Lori) watched as Lizzy had a fever come and go and she continued to complain of belly pain. Finally around 6:30a in the morning, mommy (Lori) and daddy (Dennis) decided that they should probably take Lizzy to a doctor before getting on an airplane that afternoon for the long flight home. So, we found a nearby pediatric urgent care and once the urgent care opened for the day, we took Lizzy to be seen – thinking that maybe she had a virus, or worst case scenario, appendicitis. We were not at all prepared for what happened next.
